Fraudsters are targeting Washington Trust Bank customers with calls that falsely display the bank’s contact information. They pretend to be a representative of Washington Trust, asking for personal information, security codes, or claiming they need to sweep your device. After contacting you, they may also follow up with a text message stating they are from the Bank’s fraud department, with a link to confirm information.
If you receive a call that appears to be from Washington Trust Priority Service, Commercial Service Group, or a branch location, and they ask for details or direct you to speak with the Fraud Department, hang up immediately. It's a fraud attempt.
If you receive a text that appears to be from Washington Trust Bank’s Fraud Department, DO NOT CLICK ON THE LINK. It's a fraud attempt.
If you have questions or concerns, call the Washington Trust Bank Priority Service team at 1-800-788-4578 to validate the message you have received.
Remember, Washington Trust Bank will never ask for sensitive account information such as your username and password.
