What’s awesome to shred — and what’s not.
While we know you might have a lot to shred, there are certain do’s and don’ts when it comes to Shred Day.
What you can shred:
- Legal documents.
- Old invoices or bills.
- Tax records.
- HR files.
- Junk mail.
- Old financial statements.
- Other private paper documents or files containing confidential information you need destroyed.
What you can’t shred:
- Don’t mix any non-paper items (including newspaper) with your documents.
- Cardboard.
- Plastic.
- Computer components such as hard drives.
- Glass.
- Metal.
- Food waste.
- X-rays, microfilms, and other types of films.
