Make your way to a participating Washington Trust Bank location during a Shred Day event with a small file box full of paper documents you want shredded and drop it off for free at the Shred Day event.

What’s awesome to shred — and what’s not.

While we know you might have a lot to shred, there are certain do’s and don’ts when it comes to Shred Day.

What you can shred:

Legal documents.
Old invoices or bills.
Tax records.
HR files.
Junk mail.
Old financial statements.
Other private paper documents or files containing confidential information you need destroyed.

What you can't shred:

Don’t mix any non-paper items (including newspaper) with your documents.
Cardboard.
Plastic.
Computer components such as hard drives.
Glass.
Metal.
Food waste.
X-rays, microfilms, and other types of films.
