Meet Jose: The Thrill-Seeker Leading Our East Wenatchee Branch

At Washington Trust, branch managers are more than just leaders; sometimes, they’re thrill-seekers looking for their next weekend adrenaline rush. At the East Wenatchee branch, Jose Romero exemplifies this dedication through his commitment to meeting client’s needs no matter the challenges or obstacles.

Jose’s passion for connecting with clients shines through.

As branch manager, Jose is all about ensuring his clients get help in whatever way possible.

“I love talking with people,” Jose said. “That’s why I love what I’ve been doing the past ten years of my life. Connecting with each client, understanding what their financial need is, focusing on what keeps them up at night. If there’s something I can do, whether it’s recommending a service or giving them guidance, it’s one of my biggest passions.”

All of this holds true to Jose’s philosophy of leading by example.

“It’s important for my employees to know I can do it too,” he said. “It’s important to walk the walk and talk the talk.”

Jose’s attitude keeps his clients coming back for more.

“I know other banks have competitive rates, but I’ve had so many clients who keep their money with us because they want us to be the ones to help them,” Jose said. “The reason it works is because we have that connection with them.”

For Jose, Washington Trust is a hometown staple.

Jose grew up in Wenatchee and saw Washington Trust opening new branches in his hometown.

“I was here during the entire development and when the North Wenatchee branch opened,” Jose said.

His childhood experience with Washington Trust drew Jose to the bank. He had spent a few years working in banking in Western Washington when he decided to come back home.

What’s Jose’s Awesome?

Here at Washington Trust Bank, we like to ask: “What’s Your Awesome?” It’s our way of showcasing the uniqueness of our team members and clients. So, what’s Jose’s awesome?

When he’s not helping clients achieve their financial goals, Jose is a self-described thrill-seeker.

“I’m an adventurist,” Jose said. “I’m a big hiker; I’m also into extreme sports. I’ve skydived, bungee jumped, ziplined, pretty much anything that has to do with my adrenaline rush.”

Getting to know Jose means understanding the heart and soul of the East Wenatchee branch. His unwavering commitment to his clients and his team makes him an invaluable part of the Washington Trust family.
