Plan around your budget.

With a Washington Trust Bank auto loan, you'll let us know what price range you're looking at and how much of a down payment you can afford.

Once you're approved.

You'll use the loan amount to pay the seller for the vehicle, getting you one step closer to completing the sale and getting into the driver's seat.

Buy new or used.

Our auto loans work for dealer and private party purchases alike, so no matter your car buying journey, we'll help make your purchase possible.

Understanding your auto loan.

Your monthly payment depends on several factors: the cost of the car you’re buying, how much of a down payment you can afford, the interest rate, and the loan term. A higher interest rate may result in a higher monthly payment, while a longer loan term may mean smaller monthly payments.

Down payment.
The amount of money you provide upfront to help cover the cost of the car will lower the amount you need to borrow. A larger downpayment may also lower your monthly payment.

Loan amount.
Also called principal, your loan amount is generally the cost of the car minus your down payment and any trade-in value applied to the purchase.

Interest.
This is the cost of borrowing money and is included in your monthly payment.

Loan term.
The loan term is the amount of time you have to repay your loan. We'll work with you to determine a loan term that fits your needs and budget.
